Posted May 6, 2018

The DC Player Development Academy (DCPDA) 2018-2019 Program Overview is now available. Our program overview is designed to offer transparency and insight into the DCPDA system of player development. Simply, the P.O. address 3 critical areas: (1) What we have done, (2) What we are doing and (3) What we are going to do. We hope this document will address many parent and player concerns prior to coming to a trial. The document is downloadable by clicking the link above.

About Our Partnership with Celtic Football Club (Glasgow, Scotland)

Celtic Football Club (founded 1888) has a world renowned reputation for developing players. The club, founded by a priest in 1888 used football (aka soccer) to alleviate the suffering of hunger in the east end of Glasgow. A mission the club still supports today. DCPDA is proud to be a partner with such a storied club on and off of the pitch. To that end our partnership provides:

1) Monthly Coaching meetings with the Celtic Footbal Club academy staff. We are provided valuable content for training, game preparation and more that we are able to pass on to our members

2) Celtic Football Club youth academy coaches come over once per year to provide a camp that exposes the publc to the Celtic Way-- an exceptional youth development program that has produced more than 160 players to European professional clubs since 2002. Our next camp is June 18th - 22nd in Washington, D.C.

3) DCPDA is eligible to send up to 2 players per year to train at Celtic Park (all expense paid for 1 week). Those players selected represent the best on and off of the pitch

4) Select DCPDA youth academy players will be invited to Celtic North American "Elite Player ID Camp" where each North American club sends their top players to train and evaluated over the course of 3 days in a residential setting.

5) DCPDA will form a team of 20 players from its teams to train for 1 week at Celtic Park in 2018 or 2019. This will give select players a first hand experience and unprecedented access to the "Celtic Way."

6) DCPDA top youth academy players who may want to train full time in the Celtic Football Academy (Scotland) may be selected and could be offered space in the Celtic Academy which includes soccer in the CFA, private education, and

7) DCPDA has the option of putting together a team that will play against Celtic and other professional youth academy teams in Scotland and the UK.
